Driving Lessons
If you are a beginner the first lesson is spent learning about the controls of the vehicle, the cockpit drill and then basic moving off and stopping. Your lessons will then progress at a pace that suits your abilities.
For more experienced drivers the first lesson is used as an Assessment of Driving Level with subsequent lessons structured to meet individual needs.
Advice and information on the Theory and Hazard Perception Tests will be provided.
The DSA states that, “those who pass their driving test have had, on average, about 45 hours of professional training, combined with 22 hours of private practice. Candidates who combine professional instruction with private practice are also more successful on test." Private practice with a friend or relative, therefore, can be an advantage providing this is done in conjunction with professional tuition. The person who accompanies you must be over the age of 21 and have held their driving licence for at least 3 years.
The old fashioned way of learning to drive was 1 hour a week until you were at test standard. This has proved to be an expensive way to learn to drive and instructors now adopt a more efficient and speedy way of learning.
It has been proved that 1.5 or 2 hour lessons benefit both learner and of course the instructor as there is less travelling time involved. The 2 hour option is more cost effective and can help you learn faster.
You can take as many lessons per week as you like.
